Truly Great (a short Easter message)

Luke 22:24-27

Who Is The Greatest?

And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.
And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.
But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.

“But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.”

How is greatness measured with God, do we know? It is not measured by education, by position, or by bank account, not even by expensive cars or large mansions, nothing of these worldly measurements means a thing to a God who created it all and gave to man the ability to earn. Along with that ability God gave man a free will to chose to serve Him or not. So to the man or woman that choses to ignore the persuits of worldly acclaim and rather seek the acclaim that is unique to God and sees wealth as a resource of humility and greatness not in the size of his or her name but in the means and way that Christ is honored and finds joy in proclaiming and sharing God’s love to this governance is greatness defined. Amen
May you all have had a Blessed Easter and whether it was joyful or painful the truth of Easter and the hope it gives is not dependent upon our day but dependent upon a God who never changes and keeps His promises honoring His word to His children. The truth of Easter goes beyond us and gives us a means to hope for a better tomorrow. Amen and Amen
